Hey there!
Merry Christmas…I hope 2016 has treated you well so far and your Christmas day is filled with full of surprises and some great cherishable moments with your loved ones. Can’t believe this year is almost over!
This is my first blog post. I had been thinking of giving blogging a try for the past few years and I am so excited to finally start this journey!
I have tried to put together a subtle mix of gothic and rocker style, which can be carried off by anyone as there is no right or wrong way when it comes to wearing a certain style. It is all about celebrating one’s uniqueness in every style and to never stop experimenting.
Well, this is my version. I am wearing an all black outfit from head to toe. The leggings and top are from my DIY project. I consider a good pair of ripped leggings/jeans as an essential as it can add a whole new dimension to your look. You can wear them on a day when you don’t feel like putting an effort or are running late. Just make sure that it is the right size and fits your body perfectly.
Instead of using a basic black crew neck tee, I thought of giving peek-a-boo top a go. In this top, there is a gorgeous black mesh with barely visible tiny white dots around the waist. If you are not comfortable to show too much skin but still want to experiment, this is a great way to do it. The peek-a-boo mesh doesn’t necessarily have to be around the waist, you can choose a top with mesh around the neckline, arm or even on the back! I love how the simple white detailing in the mesh compliments the ‘79’ print on the top.
To complete the look, I chose a pair of black combat boots with heels. These shoes are my baby. It’s been almost a year since I have had them and I literally wore them every other day during winter. For the accessories, I have used a bohemian black choker necklace with silver beads and pendant in the centre along with bohemian silver rings with intricate carvings and bracelets. Oh, and the octagonal sunglasses are from the Kmart festival collection for only 6 bucks!
Let me know in the comments section below about the accessories you are totally obsessed with and tag me (@aditisawarkar) in your instagram posts if you experiment with this look or even experiment with a style totally different to yours. I would love to see how you add your individuality to it. 🙂
Until then, enjoy the look and Merry Christmas once again: Location: The University of Melbourne, Parkville
